RIP Alan Ball

Sadly, and as you no doubt already know, Alan Ball has died at the age of only 61. He'd suffered a heart attack. A very sad day, not just for Arsenal fans but for fans of football everywhere: it was rather touching to see the many, many tributes already placed at Everton's ground for example.

I'm certainly not the only one who has loads of great memories of Bally in an Arsenal shirt, though I'm sure he'll be best remembered by most for his role in another red shirt - that of England in the 1966 World Cup Final.

He'll be a big miss, that's for sure.

Out Of The Woodshed, Now Stuck In The Bathroom

Urggghhh. I feel dreadful, another of the wonderful selection of work bugs I guess, so you'll have to wait for the weekend wedding update.

On a more positive note, The Sun reports: "The Queen has revealed she supports Arsenal, following in the footsteps of the Queen Mother who was, according to a senior royal source, "a self-confessed Gooner, due largely to her admiration of former player Denis Compton"." Rather cool, I think you'll agree.
